Shoppers in northern Indiana soon may have another low-price option for groceries, electronics, furniture and clothes.
Costco filed plans recently with the city to build a store next to Target on University Drive in Mishawaka, the South Bend Tribune reports.
In addition to low price shopping, the store would bring new jobs to the area. In August, CNN Money reported that Costco pays its hourly employees a little over $20 per hour on average, which is almost twice as much as Walmart. The retailer also offers its employees health insurance, vacation and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
The Fort Wayne store, which opened earlier in October, is the closest location to Michiana. A Costco store in Merrillville has been open for several years.
