Elkhart Police seek public’s help to identify thieves

ELKHART — The Elkhart Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two people who stole a woman’s purse at Walmart last week.

According to a police department news release, a woman went into the Subway restaurant inside Walmart at 175 C.R. 6 at 7:18 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, and accidentally left her purse behind.

The purse contained several credit cards, personal information and a large amount of cash.

At 7:33 p.m., security cameras recorded two women stealing the purse and walking out of the building.
