Key action: Adopted Bristol’s 2014 budget. The proposed budget totals $1,726,510, which is a 5 percent increase from the 2013 budget. Next, the budget will be submitted to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance.
Heard and saw plans for a new 100,000-square-foot building on Commerce Drive for Lami Plast from company co-owner Jerry Collins and Beau Mitchell with Classic Steel Specialties. Lami Plast imports fiberglass from Germany and sells it to the RV industry. The company hopes to pour concrete for its new building next week.
Approved payment to Niblock for $140,709.80 for the construction of Industrial Drive. The new road will connect Earthway Industrial Park to S.R. 15.
Heard that the town fall party is Friday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Bristol Elementary School. The party is open to everyone in the community. The school will have games, and the Bristol Police Department will hand out candy and host the annual hayride. The hayride will continue until 9 p.m. The Bristol Fire Department will host a haunted house from 6 to 9 that evening at the fire station.
Heard that Trick or Treat hours will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
