Oktoberfest to bring family fun, chili to downtown Elkhart

ELKHART — The fifth annual Oktoberfest organized by the Pillars of Elkhart will be Saturday, Oct. 12.
Oktoberfest is a family event with a fall theme that happens each year in Central Park in downtown Elkhart. The day includes activities for children, a cornhole tournament, live music and a chili cook-off between local restaurants.
Proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County.

Children’s activities and the chili cook-off runs from 1 to 4 p.m. Chili is $5 per person, but children age 10 and younger eat for free. Chili consumers can vote for their favorite chili. Iechyd Da beer and pretzels and hot dogs from Pumpernickel’s Pretzel Bakery will also be available. Registration for cornhole starts at 1 p.m. and the tournament starts at 2 p.m. Cost is $40 per team.
A local band, Mr. Z, will be performing during the event.
