Area marching bands fare well

ELKHART — Several local high schools’ marching bands fared well at the 2013 Concord Invitational held Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Fairfield High School band placed first in Class C after winning both the best music and best general effect categories.

In Class A, the Goshen High School marching band took home first place as well with a total score of 72.90. The Goshen band won all three categories — best music, best visual and best general effect — on the way to its 1.8-point victory over Penn High School.

Northridge, Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memorial placed second, third and fifth in Class B, respectively, and Wawasee placed third in Class C.
