Cromwell woman hurt in Friday night crash

A Cromwell woman was seriously injured in a single car crash southwest of Millersburg on Friday night.

A Cromwell woman sustained serious injuries Friday night after her car left the road and struck a tree a few miles southwest of Millersburg.

Alyssa R. Gortney, 24, was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital in Goshen after suffering a head injury in the cash, which happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, according to a report issued by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

Gortney was traveling south on C.R. 29 north of C.R. 52 when her car left the west side of the road and struck a tree.

A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed Gortney was treated in the emergency room and remains a patient.

As of early Saturday night, a spokesperson said she was in stable condition.

The vehicle, a two-door Honda, sustained heavy front-end damage, according to the report.
