Elkhart County Community Foundation awards grants to 13 agencies

The Elkhart County Community Foundation has awarded $383,472 in grants to 13 nonprofit agencies.

The foundation received requests to fund assistance to 28 organizations around the county. Of the 28, 13 were selected to receive the foundation’s quarterly grant.

LoveWay, a therapeutic horseback riding organization, has received one of the highest levels of funding. The foundation granted LoveWay $50,000 to reconstruct its pasture fencing.

The other fourth quarter 2012-13 ECCF agencies and their grants are:

Mosaic in Northern Indiana: $25,000

LaCasa of Goshen: $35,500

Horizon Education Alliance: $57,682

Ryan’s Place: $20,000

Susanna’s Kitchen: $3,000

Maple City Health Care Center: $50,000

Center for Healing and Hope: $20,000

Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County: $55,000

Open Arms Childcare and Preschool: $15,295

Little Saints Childcare and Preschool: $20,000

Five Star/Manowe Ministries: $30,000

Children’s Hope: $1,995
