Today at the Fair — Sunday, July 21
GOSHEN — Sunday, July 21, is free admission day at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. It should be a popular family day, with the weather expected to be ideal for the parade and for a visit to the fair.
The National Weather Service predicts an even better day than Saturday, with a mostly sunny sky and highs expected to reach only the low 80s.
ON THE MAIN STAGE
Jason Crabb will perform at 8 p.m.
ON THE PARK STAGE
After three morning services — a Catholic Mass, a protestant worship service and a service in Spanish — the afternoon will see The Inspirations perform at 4 and the Browders perform at 6. At 7 p.m. is another Inspirations performance as part of a tribute to Herb Maust, one of the long-time fair board members who died since last year’s fair.
It’s a great day to support any of the 4-H clubs, and you’ll find a wide variety of options at their concessions booths across the grounds.
The saddle club will have barrel racing and keyhole contests at 6 p.m. It’s a great spectacle to catch after the 4:45 p.m. honoring of 4-H members who’ve participated in the program for a decade. That recognition happens in the grandstands.
The fair parade will run through Goshen on Sunday, kicking off at Linway Plaza at 1:30 p.m. and working its way to the grandstands on the fairgrounds along C.R. 34, just east of Goshen.
The Elkhart General Hospital tent will focus on heart health today, while IU Health Goshen will focus on cancer prevention. Both tents will offer a variety of screening tests.
