Due to expected heat, two Elkhart County 4-H Fair events set for Friday have been moved indoors.

The Senior Queen Pageant will now be held at the Fairfield High School auditorium, with the same start time of 9:30 a.m. Likewise, the pageant entertainment by the Fairfield High School Show Choir and Jazz Band has been moved to the high school, with the same scheduled start time of 10:30 a.m.

The Cheerleading Contest will now be held in the Goshen High School gym, according to the Elkhart County fair Facebook page. The scheduled start time remains the same, 2:30 p.m.

Both events were originally to have been in the grandstand.

According to the fair Facebook page, the heat index on Friday is expected to surpass 100 degrees. Because of the hot, humid conditions, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory effective in Elkhart County and much of northern Indiana until 8 p.m. Friday.
