GOSHEN — Drivers heading to the Elkhart County 4-H Fair this weekend don’t need to worry about railroad crossing closures on Lincoln Avenue.
City Engineer Mary Cripe said the stretch of Lincoln Avenue, previously closed by Norfolk Southern for maintenance work, reopened Sunday and is ready for fair traffic.
Cripe also said that work on Blackport Drive has been completed in anticipation of the fair.
The railroad crossing at Ninth Street is still closed at this time, but Cripe said that even if it’s not reopened by the start of the fair, the crossing is not as vital to the movement of fair traffic.
