GOSHEN — A section of Plymouth Avenue will be closed to accommodate the Kerry’s Kids & Teens Try-Athalon Saturday morning, July 13.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, a section of Plymouth Avenue between South Indiana Avenue and South Third Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. Drivers will re-route from South Third Street to West Lincoln Avenue to South Indiana Avenue.

INDOT urges all drivers to pay extra attention on the roads during festival season.

The Kids & Teens Try-Athalon will host 340 participants this year between ages 5 and 18 in the ninth annual event, according to Goshen Parks recreation supervisor Tanya Heyde. Entry to the race is closed.

The race, which is split into age groups by gender, incorporates a swim in Shanklin Park Pool (25 meters for ages 5-12, 75 meters for ages 13-18), a 1.2-mile bike ride and a run (half mile for ages 5-12, 3.1 miles for ages 13-18) through the north end of Shanklin Park and on the Millrace Trail.
