Alexandra Hochstetler of Middlebury reached the Top 10 at the Distinguished Young Women National Finals in Mobile, Ala on Saturday, June 29.
Hochstetler, who won the Indiana Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program for 2013 in March, was named a Scholastic Scholarship award winner on Friday, June 28, and was honored on Saturday, June 29, with an Interview Scholarship among the 10 finalists.
The winner of the 2013 Distinguished Young Woman of America was Washington’s Nicole Renard.
The contest was formerly known as the Junior Miss scholarship program.
Hochstetler graduated from Northridge High School this spring. She plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis this fall to study in the biology and pre-medical programs with a focus in neuroscience. She is the daughter of Rhonda and Nathan Hochstetler.
