Government Council approves spending $150,000 for legal expenses

ELKHART — City council approved $150,000 in funding for ongoing legal expenses Monday night, June 17.

The money will come from the city’s riverboat fund. According to a summary on the council agenda, the money will be used to hire an outside legal counsel.

Council members offered no public comment on the appropriation and it was approved 8-0.

City officials often avoid commenting on ongoing litigation.
