18-year-old airlifted after falling from a truck in NorthWood parking lot

An 18-year-old female was injured Thursday evening after falling from the back of a truck in the Northwood High School parking lot.

NAPPANEE — One person was airlifted to the hospital Thursday night after an accident in the parking lot of NorthWood High School.

An Elkhart County dispatcher confirmed that an ambulance was dispatched at 8:58 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, to the parking lot of NorthWood High School, 2101 N. Main St. in Nappanee, for a report of an 18-year-old female who had fallen out of the back of the truck.

She was described as unconscious and breathing with a cut to the head.

A helicopter was called shortly after 9:30 p.m. to take her to the hospital.
