ELKHART — A frost warning on Memorial Day weekend?

That’s the case tonight for northern Indiana and parts of southern Michigan.

The National Weather Service issued a frost warning Friday afternoon, May 24, saying a high pressure system bringing with it cool air could cause a rapid drop in temperatures overnight.

Low temperatures are expected to fall into in the upper 30s and some areas could see lows in the mid to lower 30s, which could result in the formation of frost for several hours.

The warning includes the counties of Elkhart, St. Joseph, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Marshall in Indiana and Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph in Michigan.

The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions and a high near 65. Lows Saturday night will be near 46.

Sunday will be dry with highs near 68. Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 70. Chance of rain Monday night. Lows will dip to about 58.
