Awarded the bid for a water main relocation on Monroe Street to Niblock Excavating. Niblock’s bid for the project was $63,078.30.
Opened bids for a driveway entrance and parking lot at Fidler Pond. Bids were referred to the engineering department for a recommendation.
Approved the partial blocking of the alley between Washington Street and Jefferson Street on May 31 and June 1. A dumpster will be placed adjacent to the building at 210-212 S. Main St. to remove debris from renovations to the second floor of the building.
Granted a certificate of occupancy to OSB LLC for its facility at 1775 E. Kercher Road despite not yet being in compliance with the city’s stormwater construction ordinance.
OSB has given the city a $5,000 security to ensure completion of work to bring the site into compliance by June 10. If the work is not done by that date, the city may take action to complete the work on its own and use the security to pay for the costs.
Accepted a change order to the Mill Street Park and Indiana Avenue seeding project to purchase the correct mulch for the project. The increase to the contract is $3,000 for a total contract price of $12,447.07.
Accepted a change order for the Indiana Avenue sidewalk repair project. An additional $850 was granted to incorporate additional sidewalk that was removed and replaced. The change brings the total contract price to $16,540.
Accepted a change order to the Central Garage expansion project to lower existing downspouts, install tracer wire, replace some sidewalk on the southwest corner of the building and ground the current electrical service to meet regulations. The total increase to the contract is $3,494.70 for a total contract price of $747,183.70.
Ratified an amendment to an agreement with M.W. Chupp Inc. to replace the existing galvanized water lines with copper lines in the city’s annex building. The amendment raises the project cost $300 for a total of $6,700.
Announced the May brush pick-up program will begin Tuesday, May 28, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Residents wishing to have their brush collected should have it at the curb by 7 a.m. that day.
Announced the next Board of Works meeting has been rescheduled from Monday, May 27, to Friday, May 24.
