INDIANAPOLIS — Two local Catholic schools — St. Thomas the Apostle School and St. Vincent de Paul School, both of Elkhart — are on this year’s list of Four Star Schools.

According to the Indiana Department of Education, to be on the list of Four Star Schools in Indiana, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+) testing results. This year’s 313 Indiana Four Star Schools made the list based on their ISTEP+ scores from the 2011-12 school year.

Along with St. Thomas and St. Vincent, 12 local public schools are also on this year’s list. An earlier article did not include the local Catholic schools.

A worker inspects damage to a house at the top of a slow-motion landslide in Jackson, Wyo., on Saturday, April 19, 2014. No one can say when the mountainside collapsing into this Wyoming resort town will give way. But it appears increasingly likely that when it does, it's going to take a piece of Jackson with it.
