Windy weather

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the Michiana area.

The Michiana area could see its share of windy weather later Saturday, May 11.

The National Weaver Service issued a statement Saturday afternoon saying that rain showers moving east could cause brief heavy rain and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

The showers are expected to move across the Michiana area, including Elkhart, Goshen, Nappanee, Wakarusa and Dunlap.
