INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities say Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s state sport-utility vehicle was hit in a crash Thursday, May 2, but the governor was not injured.

Pence spokeswoman Christy Denault says neither the governor and nor any of the other passengers required medical attention following Thursday morning’s accident, which occurred in downtown Indianapolis as Pence was heading to a bill signing ceremony in Fort Wayne.

Denault says Pence got into a different state vehicle after the accident and was on his way to Fort Wayne.

State police Capt. David Bursten says the governor’s Chevrolet Tahoe was struck after a driver ran a stop sign near an entrance ramp to Interstates 65 and 70.

Bursten said the driver was cited for failing to stop and both vehicles were towed.
