Middlebury Redevelopment Commission
When: Thursday, April 25
Actions: Heard that several infrastructure improvements are beginning in Middlebury.
Work has begun on S.R. 13 on the Pumpkinvine Trail near Syndicate Systems. The new section of the Pumpkinvine from Wayne Street to the tunnel under U.S. 20 is also under construction.
INDOT will soon redo curb ramps in the downtown area in preparation for the repaving of S.R. 13. The downtown area will be repaved first, and then the sections of S.R. 13 south and north of downtown.
Work will soon begin on the wastewater treatment plant upgrade and new sewer main.
The project to elevate two of Middlebury’s water towers is also progressing. The consulting firm is looking into check valves for some portions of town. Remote-read water meters and meter reading equipment are being purchased as part of the water system improvements.
A grant has been submitted to create trails in Old Mill Park and Riverbend Park.
