Elkhart man helped authorities bust St. Joe drug operation

An Elkhart man helped St. Joseph County authorities seize more than 200 grams of methamphetamine in a drug bust earlier this month.

SOUTH BEND — An Elkhart man facing criminal charges helped authorities bust a St. Joseph County drug operation, the South Bend Tribune reports.

The informant and an undercover police officer exchanged $2,600 for a total of 90 grams of methamphetamine in three drug deals before federal agents, South Bend County Police, South Bend Metro Special Operations Section and the Elkhart ICE Unit raided a rural St. Joseph County property on Monday, April 22.

Scott Weaver and Rebecca Turner, both of St. Joseph County, were arrested in the raid.

Weaver, who was the original target of the operation, is charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
