ELKHART — One woman was taken to the hospital Thursday, April 18, after a five-vehicle accident on East Jackson Boulevard.

One driver said he and the others involved in the accident were headed west and stopped at the stoplight at East Jackson and Goshen Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. when one car hit another from behind, pushing the vehicles in front of it into each other.

A white sedan with heavy front-end damage appeared to have struck a dark gray minivan, starting the domino-effect accident.

The woman driving the third car in the line was taken to the hospital with complaints of chest pain.

The other drivers were uninjured.

Emergency crews closed all lanes of East Jackson between Kenwood and Kenyon avenues to investigate the accident.
