ELKHART — A woman was hurt Thursday, April 11, when her car was struck by an Interurban Trolley.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of South Main Street and East Herrold Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday for reports of an injury accident.

A witness at the scene said it looked like the car was slowing to turn when it was struck from behind by the trolley. The rear of the sedan appeared to be heavily damaged while there was little damage to the trolley.

The driver of the sedan was removed through the car’s passenger door by firefighters and taken to the hospital.
