The city of Elkhart will begin leaf pickup today, April 8.

The city street department prefers the leaves be bagged, but if residents have a large amount and can’t use bags, leaves should be piled near the curb.

The city also requests residents do not include any trash, grass, limbs or twigs, concrete or asphalt with the leaves.

Collection is being done on a case-by-case basis and residents should contact the city when the leaves are ready for pick-up. The street department phone number is 293-5518.
