Home sales in Elkhart County dipped in February, but the median sales price increased, according to the latest monthly report from the Indiana Association of Realtors.

Here are the highlights:

Ÿ Ninety home sales closed in February, down 18.2 percent from 110 in February 2012. There were also fewer new listings, 179 compared to 200 a year earlier.

Ÿ The median sales price last month reached $93,000, up from $82,500 a year earlier.

Ÿ Statewide, there were 4,577 sales in February, up from 3,866 a year earlier. The median sales process across Indiana reached $105,000, up from $100,500.

“Members are genuinely optimistic for the year ahead, though we know real employment and wage growth, as well as access to credit, are key to the long-term success of housing markets across the state,” Kevin Kirkpatrick, president of the association said in a press release.
