Elkhart man killed in Mich. crash leaves behind young family

ELKHART — An Elkhart man killed Thursday, March 21, in a two-vehicle crash in Cass County, Mich., leaves behind a wife and three young sons.

Alan Steven, 27, was on his way to work at 7:10 a.m. on Thursday when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with an oncoming pickup truck.

Steven was pronounced dead at the scene while the other driver suffered minor injuries.

According to an obituary from Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Niles, Mich., Steven was on his way to Shelton’s Farm Market, where he worked as a supervisor.

He and his wife, Amanda, have three young children: Oliver, 5, Simon, 2, and Henry, 7 months.

Steven loved movies and dreamed of working as a producer or actor. He also enjoyed cooking and improvising new recipes, according to the obituary.

Memorial donations to establish a fund for the Steven’s children can be sent to Amanda Steven, c/o Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main St., Niles, MI 49120.

A visitation and celebration of life service for Steven was Monday, March 25, at Brown Funeral Home.
