ELKHART COUNTY – An Elkhart woman was injured in a one-car crash Sunday morning on S.R. 120, just north of Middlebury.

According to a report from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, Alexandra C. Zylman, 22, was driving west on S.R. 120, east of S.R. 13, around 10 a.m. when her vehicle ran off the north side of the road.

Zylman overcorrected the vehicle and spun sideways before running off the north side of the road and into a ditch.

She was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the driver-side door of her Ford F-150, the report said.

Zylman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital complaining of pain in her back and left arm. She was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.

The wall was washed over during Superstorm Sandy in October 2012, causing erosion and and taking down power lines. Asharoken can accept federal aid to build a dune and create public access to its beach for the first time in nearly 90-year history. Or it can reject aid, retain its private beach and allow erosion and other issues to worsen. (AP Photo/Emily Dooley)
