ELKHART — A man working at Homan Lumber, 1650 W. Lusher Ave., was seriously injured in an accident Friday morning, Feb. 15.

The saw operator suffered injuries around 7:30 a.m., said Robert Homan, owner of the business. He declined to discuss the severity of the injuries, but said the worker was taken to IU Health Indianapolis Methodist. As of Friday afternoon, Homan said the worker would undergo surgery in the evening.

Homan said the man has been employed at the business for about a year.

Homan also said a report on television station WNDU’s website that a wooden plank had been driven into a worker’s head “may or may not be accurate.”

The incident will be investigated by the company, Homan said.
