GOSHEN — Northridge and Bethany Christian’s middle and high schools teams competed Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Regional Science Olympiad Tournament at Goshen College.

In the competitions, teams of students competed in a variety of science-related challenges. Many challenges called on students to use hands-on skills, such as a challenge in which teams build a cantilevered wooden structure or another in which students had to create an experiment and report based on several objects presented to students at the contest. Others required students to answer questions about a topic, such as rocks and minerals, forestry or anatomy.

Young travelers say they enjoy taking selfies to preserve and curate travel memories while sharing experiences with friends. But some older travelers worry that spending too much time on social media can be a distraction from enjoying and learning about a place. (AP Photo/Susan Austin Photography)
