Master Gardeners to offer free winter programs

Free instructional programs on composting will be offered this winter by Elkhart County’s 2012 Master Gardener class.

Classes will be offered on three separate days: Feb. 9, at Rieth Interpretive Center, 410 W. Plymouth Ave., Goshen; Feb. 23, at the Elkhart Environmental Center, 1717 E. Lusher Ave., Elkhart; and March 9, at the Goshen Public Library, 601 S. Fifth St., Goshen. Programs will begin each day at 10 a.m. and last for roughly two hours.

Topics discussed will include the composting process, types of compost and how to build a compost bin or pile.

There is no registration required to participate.
