Elkhart part of snow advisory

A lake effect snow advisory has been issued for parts of northern Indiana, including Elkhart County, until 4 a.m. Sunday.

Snow bands coming off Lake Michigan will create periods of heavy snow. Accumulations within the advisory area could total 2 to 4 inches. Other counties in the advisory include LaPorte, St. Joe, Berrien and Cass, according to the National Weather Service.

Travel could become difficult at times, according to the weather service.
