ELKHART - The Elkhart Central High School Pep Band and cheerleaders are traveling to the University of Notre Dame to cheer on the men’s basketball team as they compete against the Seton Hall Pirates at noon Saturday, Jan. 5.

Approximately 100 band members and 12 cheerleaders will meet at Central to gather their equipment and head to the Joyce Center at Purcell Pavilion. The students were invited to stand-in for Fighting Irish students who won’t be able to attend the game due to winter break.

The Central band has been rehearsing the Notre Fight Song in preparation for the game.

The Fighting Irish are ranked number 21 in the Associated Press men’s basketball poll and the game will broadcast on ESPN.
