NIBCO CEO chosen as 2012 Elkhart County Distinguished Citizen

Rex Martin, chair and CEO of NIBCO, Inc., was chosen as the 2012 Elkhart County Distinguished Citizen by the LaSalle Council, Boy Scouts of America.

ELKHART COUNTY — Rex Martin, chair and CEO of NIBCO, Inc., was named the 2012 Elkhart County Distinguished Citizen by the LaSalle Council, Boy Scouts of America.

The award is given to a person or people whose leadership contributes to the growth and vitality of the United States.

In addition to his position at NIBCO, Martin is also an active board member for the Elkhart County Community Foundation, American Red Cross - Elkhart County Chapter and 1st Source Corporation. He is the lead director of the Engineering School Advisory Council at the University of Notre Dame and co-chairs the Rex and Alice A. Martin foundation with his wife, Alice A. Martin. Their foundation is responsible for NIBCO Water & Ice Park, Martin Skate Park, NIBCO Therapeutic Indoor Horseback Riding Area and other projects in Elkhart County.
