LAPORTE Speech scholarship program planned

District competition planned Jan. 6 at LaPorte HS.

Area high school students are invited to compete in the 76th annual American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program.

The contest, which will allow students to compete for scholarships at district, zone, state and national levels, requires each contestant to give orations on phases of the United States Constitution. District competition will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at LaPorte High School.

Participants must be younger than 20 and enrolled in high school. The entry deadline is Dec. 21. For more information call 393-9958 or email
