ELKHART Box City event to be held today

Elkhart County Homeless Coalition to hold annual Box City event Friday

The Elkhart County Homeless Coalition’s annual Box City event is today from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The event will take place in the Civic Plaza in downtown Elkhart.

The Homeless Coalition will offer a free chili lunch at noon and the Noon Optimist Club will offer another free chili meal at 5:30 p.m.

Steve’s Gym will provide a martial arts demonstration at 5 p.m. and the 4-H Pay it Forward club will perform the Stone Soup skit at 6 p.m.

The Homeless Coalition will be taking donations of candles, socks, hats, gloves scarves and winter coats throughout the day.
