ELKHART — Two people were injured after a crash on C.R. 6 just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department, a van driven by Kristin Woodworth, 46, of Elkhart was stopped headed east on C.R. 6 waiting to turn onto Freda Drive when it was rear-ended by a car driven by George Tsoumas, 21, of Elkhart.

According to an accident release Wednesday night, Tsoumas had been following a car in the right lane that had started to signal for a right turn when he changed lanes and collided with the van driven by Woodworth. Ariele Duffy, a 13-year-old passenger in the van, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with complaints of head, hip and neck pain. Nathan Pierce, a 21-year-old passenger in the car, was also taken to the hospital with complaints of pain in his arm and head.

The sheriff’s department is still investigating the crash and no enforcement actions were taken at the scene.
