GOSHEN — A free drive-through car-seat check will be offered Saturday at Brookside Manufactured Housing Community.

Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available from noon to 4 p.m. to check car-seats being used and help parents and caregivers keep children safe while they are riding in vehicles.

There will be signs from Safe Kids Elkhart County at the southern-most entrance to the park on C.R. 17 south of C.R. 28 directing motorists to where the seats will be checked.

Drive-ups are encouraged, but parents and caregivers who need a specific appointment can call 574-523-2112 to schedule a time.

Community members who are unable to attend the event but would still like to have their child safety seats evaluated may come to the fitting station during business hours at the Elkhart County Health Department, 608 Oakland Ave., Elkhart.

This event is sponsored by Safe Kids Elkhart County, the Goshen Police Department and Brookside Community neighborhood watch.

Visit Safe Kids Elkhart County’s Facebook page for more information.
