One dies after Elkhart shooting

2:45 p.m. UPDATE:

ELKHART — The woman who died after being shot in Elkhart late Saturday was 19 years old, according to Lt. Laura Koch of the Elkhart Police Department.

She died at Elkhart General Hospital.

The man who also was shot is 35 years old. He was taken to EGH and then transferred to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. His condition is unknown, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

ELKHART — Two people were shot in Elkhart around midnight, and one of them has died.

A female and a male were hurt in the shooting incident and the female died, said Lt. Laura Koch of the Elkhart Police Department.

The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, near Benham Avenue.

More information may be released later today.
