GOSHEN -- The 24-hour national news station CNN was filming in Goshen on Wednesday night.

The crew planned to stop at the South Side Soda Shop, 1122 S. Main St., at dinner time. Nick Boyd, who owns the soda shop with his wife Charity, said the network is working on a story about growing up in a small town. Washington-based CNN reporter Kate Bolduan grew up in Goshen, he said, and offered up the town as a potential subject for the story.

He said Bolduan called him and asked if the crew could film in the restaurant and interview customers.

"She just remembered spending a lot of time here as a child," he said.

The restaurant used Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday and Wednesday to invite its fans to come dine with CNN.

The owners said they didn't know when the story would air. The South Side Soda Shop was featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" in 2007, as well as its 2008 "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" book.
