ELKHART — Shela Lynn Abbott and Michael Kennedy Price were married Oct. 6, 2012, at the Lerner Theatre by Pastor Terry Cochran of Three Cross Ministries.
The bride’s parents are Gigi and the late Preston Abbott of Bristol. The groom’s parents are Ron and Tonia Price of Bristol.
Stacy Gleim, the bride’s sister of Gainesville, Fla., was matron of honor. Kelsey Morley of Bentonville, Ariz., Blair Morley of Silver Spring, Md., Marie Kindhart of Union, Mich., and Samantha Abbott, the bride’s sister of Bristol, were bridesmaids. Avery Naval, the groom’s niece of South Bend, was flower girl.
Edwardo Maldonado of Elkhart was best man. Evan Balk of Elkhart, A.J. Phillips of Bristol, Dan Cobb of Brevard, N.C., and Dylan Price, the groom’s brother of Bristol, were groomsmen. Aiden Naval, the groom’s nephew of South Bend, was ring bearer.
The couple had a sand ceremony during the wedding. The sand and shells were from the backyard of the groom’s grandparents’ home in Bonita Springs, Fla., where the groom had proposed to the bride on Memorial Day 2011.
The reception followed ceremony at FOP Lodge 52 Nagy Hall in Elkhart. The couple honeymooned to the islands of St. Lucia in the Caribbean.
The couple dated for a few months in middle school and then lost touch. Three years ago, they ran into each other at Sunrise Restaurant in Elkhart and have been together since.
