ELKHART — Melissa Murray and Adam Mellott were married on Sept. 2, 2012, in the Cottage Garden at Wellfield Botanic Garden by Rabbi Shoshana Feferman of Temple Israel in Valparaiso.
The bride’s parents are Dina Harris and Bil Murray of Elkhart. The groom’s parents are Claudia Mellott of Darien, Ill., and Dennis Mellott of Schaumburg, Ill.
Shital Marschall of Elkhart was matron of honor. Jessie Caskey of Elkhart, Jill Logli of Chicago, Sarah Smith of Birmingham, Mich., and Amy Mayer of Pittsburgh, Pa., were bridesmaids. Audra Hall of Columbus, Ohio was flower girl.
Jason Jaffe of Darien was best man. Ian Mellott and Jeff Mellott, the groom’s brothers of Darien, David Murray, the bride’s brother of Elkhart, and Chris Balocca of Darien were groomsmen. Ben Marshall, the groom’s cousin of Naperville, Ill., was ring bearer.
Chris Misener of Elkhart and Joe Van Burkem of Chicago were ushers.
The bride wore the groom’s grandmother’s earrings and her grandmother’s ring. Each of the groomsmen and ushers had different ties, gifted to them by the bride and groom.
The reception was at the Old Bag Factory in Goshen.
The couple celebrated their marriage with a trip to Lisbon, Portugal, and Barcelona, Spain.
They met while working at Sears Holdings corporate office, playing intramural softball. Adam proposed on the rooftop deck of their building in Chicago after a dinner at Chez Joel in Chicago.
