Local Churches of the Brethren will once again host prayer services for the more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted in July by Boko Haram, a militant Islamist group.

The majority of the girls are members of the Nigerian Church of the Brethren, according to a press release.

In July, the Church of the Brethren declared Aug. 17 to Aug. 24 as an International Week for Prayer and Fasting directed at the violence in Nigeria.

Prayer services, which are scheduled to coincide with evening mealtimes, will be hosted at the following area Churches of the Brethren from 6 to 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
