In celebration of its 25th anniversary, River Oaks Community Church is donating $25,000 to Mary Beck Elementary School, the Elkhart Youth and Community Center (EYCC) and Children’s LifeLine in Haiti at the end of May.

Mary Beck Elementary will receive $5,000 for literature kits. River Oaks started at Mary Beck, where it met for two years before moving to the EYCC when it was the YMCA, a press release from River Oaks said.

Because the EYCC served as River Oaks’ home for two years, the church is giving the organization a $5,000 donation to purchase summer camp equipment. Thirty-five volunteers will also give their time to help clean up and paint the EYCC on Saturday, May 31.

The last $15,000 will be given to Children’s LifeLine, a ministry that serves people in Haiti. Of that, $10,000 will be used to buy food and supplies for a pack-a-thon on May 31 and 150 church members will volunteer at the event. The remaining $5,000 will be used to help current LifeLine ministry needs.

The church will celebrate its anniversary with an all-church picnic on Sunday, June 1.
