Featured speaker: Valorie Eads, Center for Hospice Care volunteer recruitment coordinator. Eads is a life-long resident of Elkhart County, a graduate of Concord High School and Purdue University. She served the Elkhart Community Schools as an administrator for 30 years. Eads came to the Center for Hospice Care because of her father’s illness. As a result of the care he received, her passion to help those in need increased. She began as a volunteer and was recently asked to serve in the position of volunteer recruitment coordinator.

The Rev. William R. Hemmig, pastor of Elkhart St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, will retire from full-time ministry at the end of June. Hemmig has been pastor of the church for 12 years. He and his wife, Donna, have served the United Methodist Church for 39 years through nine appointments. Hemmig will preach his final sermon at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services, with a special reception at 9:30 a.m.
