SYRACUSE — Lakes Area Players is presenting the annual performance of “Christ’s Passion” in Syracuse just in time for Easter celebrations.

The six performances are slated for 7 p.m. March 22, 23 and 29 and 2 p.m. March 23, 34 and 30, all at the Activities Center at Quaker Haven Camp, 111 EMS D16C Lane, Syracuse.

The musical drama follows Simon of Cyrene as he and his children enter Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. The Passover festivities darken as Jesus is brought to trial and crucified.

While the play is somber at times, LAP director Elaine Pearson said that the show is a family-friendly version of the Easter story.

Tickets are available ahead of time for $7 for general admission and $10 for “gold circle” seating. Tickets are available at the door for $10.

A VIP option is offered for the March 23 and 24 shows. VIP attendees will enjoy a buffet meal at Quaker Haven, a backstage tour by Christ’s Passion cast and crew and one gold circle seating ticket for $25.

The buffet, which is at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23 and at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, is $13 if purchased separately.
