Community Advent Lessons and Carols, a 13-year Elkhart tradition, returns this year at First Congregational Church, 431 S. Third St. Join soloists Danielle Svonavec and Stephen Lancaster, the community choir and organists Jim Begly and Kevin Vaughn at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for an evening of choral and organ music, Advent hymnody and readings to celebrate the beginning of the Christian season of Advent and the holiday season. No admission fee and open to all. Donations are accepted for Church Community Services. Community Advent Lessons and Carols is sponsored each year by St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and hosted by various local congregations.

Nappanee Missionary Church Worship Choir and Winds presents its 26th annual Christmas musical, “Fear Not,” at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 and 16 at the church. Saturday night only, a special reception with free coffee, cookies and cider is offered from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The message of the musical and God’s message now and forever is “Fear Not!” There is a reason for joy in this Christmas season.
