ELKHART — Barbara and Spanky Landis are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month.
The couple joined in marriage at St. Paul’s Methodist Church on Oct. 25, 1963.
They have lived in Elkhart for 50 years.
Spanky is a graduate of Penn High School, and Barbara is a graduate of Elkhart Central High School.
Spanky retired in 2009 from Air Equipment Sales and Service. Barbara is still actively working at McCollough Scholten Construction in Elkhart.
They have a son, Robert Landis, who resides in Mishawaka, and a daughter, Cimberly Ann, who resides in Portland, Tenn., with her son (the couple’s grandson), Conner Powell.
The past 50 years, they have actively enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, boating and many sporting activities and spending time with their family and friends.
They will be celebrating their special day with a trip in the fall and a cookout in the spring with family and friends.
