Robert and Joy Blake were married Aug. 17, 1963.

ELKHART — Robert M. and Joy L. (Kring) Blake celebrated their 50th anniversary in August.
They were married Aug. 17, 1963, at First Brethren Church of Ardmore, South Bend.
The couple celebrated with a three-day trip to the beautiful West Baden Springs Resort in southern Indiana, where Mrs. Blake watched her husband of 50 years actually zipline with the younger people. The following weekend, their daughters and families treated them to a family gathering at Papa Vino’s Restaurant in Mishawaka.
Mr. Blake is a substation mechanic in South Bend and works for AEP electrical research in North Liberty and Groveport, Ohio. Mrs. Blake worked at Robertson’s Department Store in South Bend and in accounts payable at Big Lots, Inc., in Columbus, Ohio.
Their children are Letisha Treble of Elkhart and Tonya (Michael) Stahly of South Bend.
Their grandchildren are Tre, Tia and Abby Stahly of South Bend.
Mr. Blake is a 1960 graduate of South Bend Central High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Mrs. Blake graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1962.
