'Live-tweeting' the birth of my daughters

I celebrated my daughters' 12th birthday by ripping off an idea from NPR and posting my most vivid memories of the actual day of their birth on my Twitter feed as though they were happening in real time.

My daughters celebrated their 12th birthday over the weekend by inviting some friends over for a party. They played games, ate too many cheese puffs for mom and dad's taste and giggled the afternoon away.

I joined in the party by keeping an eye on the food, lighting the candles on the birthday cake and trying to prevent massive spillages of punch.

I also celebrated by ripping off an idea from NPR and posting my most vivid memories of the actual day of their birth on my Twitter feed as though they were happening in real time. NPR did this recently with @Todayin1963 feed recounting, among other things, Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and President John F. Kennedy's assassination.

I compiled the tweets in Storify. I hope you enjoy:
