New support group for caregivers for Alzheimer's disease/dementia

The support group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart.

ELKHART — Caregivers for persons with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia are invited to a new community caregiver support group that meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart, 1732 Garden St. It is free and open to the public.

Facilitators are Malana Maher, care coordinator for Always Best Care-Michiana, and Abigail Finch, memory care unit manager for Riverside Village. The group is sponsored by Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, a division of REAL Services.

The support group is part of a network of caregiver support groups sponsored by Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, including a support group that meets at 5 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Beardsley, and a group that meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Greencroft Community Center, 1820 Greencroft Blvd., Goshen.
